Honors and Awards
In the spring of 2004, I was granted the Dominican Scholarship Award and received partial tuition based on my high school academic achievements. Recipients of this scholarship must be full-time, first semester freshmen maintaining at least a 3.0 cumulative index for eight consecutive semesters. I worked hard throughout my four years at Molloy College, and in May, 2008, I graduated Magna Cum Laude. I received the Gold Medalist Nursing Award for academic excellence, and became a Blue Fourragere recipient for completing eight semesters on the Dean’s List. In addition, I became an Omicron Alpha Zeta Honor Society member. Nominees for this honor society are chosen among those juniors and seniors that have maintained a 3.50 cumulative index over the last two consecutive years (64 credits). Omicron Alpha Zeta members are required to give evidence of leadership ability, cooperation with Molloy College policies, and participation in extracurricular activities. I am also a member of Sigma Theta Tau, Epsilon Kappa Chapter. To become a member of this honor program, students enrolled in the Molloy College undergraduate nursing program must demonstrate a commitment to nursing excellence and academic achievement. This society promotes leadership and scholarship in practice, education, and research to enhance the health of all people. Candidates must have a cumulative index of at least 3.0 on a four-point scale, have a 3.0 in nursing, and be in the top 35 percent of their class. Striving to do my best has always been of utmost importance to me.
